Christmas surprise: Brother Innov'is NX450Q

At my oldest son's suggestion, my husband surprised me Christmas morning with this machine. They got it on sale at our local sewing machine store. I know nothing about it and have not yet even read the manual -- not unappreciative, just very busy with Christmas and New Year's parties and activities, making a photo book for that son's birthday (yesterday), and having the youngest grandson for a few days.

This makes machine #4 that I now own, all of which work: a Singer Golden Touch 'n Sew that I've used for years and is my "main" machine; my original-to-me Singer 99K which I recently reclaimed and restored, and a Singer 15 that belonged to my stepmother. They all sew very well and I didn't know I "needed" another. But none of them, of course, do what this Brother is designed for and I'm thrilled to have it......I think.

So, what about this machine? Who has it? Who loves it? What does it do? What is the learning curve? (I was excited this week to discover that a friend has this same machine. She bought it a couple of years ago when she intended to "get into" quilting but has never used it. Learning together how it works should make it more fun.)

Thanks for all comments, suggestions, warnings, and/or congratulations! ;)

How wonderful. Brothers are lovely, It should have a nice needle threader, and thread cutter, Also you should be able to adjust presser foot pressure and height. It should have most of the features of the laura ashley with less decorative stitches and I don't think it has the AHA feature but should have a lot of nice features. Brothers are super easy to use. I have loved all of mine. I used to have the Babylock Espire(Brother QC-1000)-now the Laura ashley which is 2 machines above yours and I never had any problems with it. I just upgraded to another brother. They are nice little workhorses and will never own another brand
