Christmas Twitterings Quilt

Purchased this from e-PatternCentral. Was trying to use Aunt Martha's Ball Point Embroidery Paint. Two of my lines started to run on the Birdhouse block. Thank God I did not sew them together yet. Have anyone used this method of embroidery? Would like advice on how to prevent the runs.

It never occurred to me that they would bleed. My mom used to do this back in the 60's - it was great fun.

I have not used the liquid embroidery paints. I prefer tracing my design on my background square with my Frixion pen and doing a hand embroidery stitch over it.

Cute design but never used this product before.

I have done this before but not had the problem you are having. I can't remember what paints I have, but think they are basically the same. Did you maybe squeeze the tube a little too hard on that particular line? Sometimes the tube puts out too much "paint" and it will cause it to run. I paint a little on a scrap before trying on the real pattern. About the only thing you can do when this happens it to try to remove it with a toothpick or draw over the line to make it look more pronounced and then do the same on the other side so it matches. Sorry it happened.

I used these back in the early 80's and don't remember having that problem either. I like this because it is quicker. Had this pattern since Jun 2012 and want to finish it to hang in my dining room this Christmas. Thanks for your help.

Try googling how to use them, maybe there'll be a hint there? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMx_jUgSzDI

I did watch the video before I started. The tips link is very helpful. I did check the date on the box and found out it was 2 years old. Hobby Lobby exchanged it for a more current box. Thanks for the help!
