Civil War Peace and Unity quilt

Has anyone done this? How intricate is the piecing? It looks very complex in the tiny piectures online, but I wondered if that was more a function of the printed fabrics than overwhelming piecing.

I'm an intermediate level quilter but don't want to take on too huge a project right now. But this is a really pretty quilt!

Thanks in advance,
Hallie in NM

here's a rather clear picture of the quilt. as you said, i think it looks more complicated because of the busy-ness of the fabrics. if you look at the individual blocks, there are only a few more complicated ones. since the blocks are so large, those little HST's may not be too bad. it was a block of the month, and if you do it that way, i think it will not overwhelm you. I agree with Nan--the fabric is busy and it's densely quilted making some of the larger blocks look intricately pieced. Most are not. Remember--you're doing one block at a time. Maybe that won't make it seem so daunting.
