A week or so ago someone posted a picture of a civil war sampler they had just completed. It was absolutely beautiful and I'd like to start one sometime soon.

Does anyone remember the picture? If so, do you know if the patterns for the blocks are from a book or sold separately and the name of the book/patterns?

did you try a Search (see above)? Just type in Civil War sampler & lots will come up for your viewing pleasure.

Eleanor Burns has a book that is a Civil War Sampler. Also, you can get the blocks online free if you know the names of them if you just want the blocks of that time frame. El's book has some history of the blocks in her book. It's the Underground Railroad book.

Also, Barbara Brackmann has a blog that has a Civil War Sampler going on. Here is the link:
