hope everyone can help. do you use compressed air when cleaning your sergers and sewing machines. i realize oiling and new needles are important. the dust bunnies are huge when sewing flannel. i have heard pros and cons. as i have seen many of your sewing rooms and notice there are several machines in each, i am sure you know how to keep them clean and running in tip top shape, also the many quilts are beautiful and the machines must be working well. thank you in advance for your comments.

I just use long tweezers and soft brushes in different sizes.

The sewing tech at my dealer's says not to use canned air to clean out the inside because it will blow stuff deeper into the machine. I use a little brush with semi-stiff bristles that came with my machine. If it has a lot of lint I BARELY dampen just the tip of the bristle and touch the lint and it sticks right to the brush and I pull it out and wipe on a scrap. When it's all cleaned out, a drop of oil and the machine is happy! :)

I spent 10 dollars on an attachment for my vacumn to clean my sewing machine. Dont bother it dosnt work.
I now just use my hand vac and it works well enough, better than a brush.

I just use my shop vac. Plenty of suction power to get any stubborn lint out.

NO CANNED AIR! Bad for the machine!

Long tweezers and little soft brushes, and the brush that came with my machine. I take it apart as much as I dare and clean out as much as I can with out getting into the electronics. :?

I clean mine with a q tip.

I wipe the outside of mine down,
I clean the bobbin area out about every other day.
I take a q-tip, dampen it with a little machine oil, and use that to get the lint out. Just twist the head of it down tightly, put a drop or 2 of the oil on it and the lint will grab on to it.
My repair man said to not use canned air, especially if you have a machine that has any sort of computer in it. OR...just not use it at all. It will blow stuff deeper in and/or moisture will build up inside your machine. If you have the nozzle too close and spray, moisture does come out...not a good thing.

I use a brush to get most of the fuzzies off and out of the machines.

I bought some brushes in the craft section when I couldn't find a regular brush to clean out the bobbin area.
