I clean the tracks on my Nolting with alcohol. Some people use a silocone spray, sprayed on a cloth and then rubbed on the tracks.

Alcohol. Remember to clean the wheels with it too.

I clean the tracks and the wheels on my HQ16 with a damp paper towel every time I use it. It is in the basement and though I keep it covered it still gets dusty.

Also check for thread caught in the wheels.

Thanks Guys,

Can I ask what type of alcohol.....rubbing alcohol maybe?

i am in the UK and we don't use that much here.

It must be rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is sold in pharmacies here, in a plastic container, on shelving near the hydrogen peroxide. Probably somewhere in the area where bandages are sold.

What is a gracie II?

I usually wipe them down before quilting with SM oil...just a tad not much, mine get dusty from fabric and thread

Denatured or rubbing alcohol is what is used. The same stuff used for alcohol rubs to keep you cooll in summer. It is also used on abraised or scratched skin to kill germs and bacteria, even though it does sting.

Although you could use plain cheap vodka instead of rubbing alcohol too. Just save some for sipping!
peace
