Have any of you RECENTLY found the clear plastic over-the-door shoe organizer? If so, where? I want to get one to organize my sewing/quilting notions. Can't find one!! The ones I did find were made of canvas type fabric and about $15.00!!! I want the old clear ones for easy visibility.

I found one at bed bath and beyond a few months ago.
I love it :D

We also got our last one at BB&B. I don't have a door in my sewing room though. :( I use it in the bathroom.

amazon.com is where I got mine.

If you go to BB&B remember to take one of their discount coupons - usually can get 20% off - I get them in the mail all the time, but I believe you can pull them up from online

can somebody post a picture of theirs being used??

I also like this one...thinking of getting it to hold fabric. I like how it zips.

I bought mine at Wal-Mart although it has been a couple of years. The one I have though is for boots and instead of vertical pockets, they go across. I use it for rolls of stabilizer and interfacing.

This is a cool idea. I need to try it.

Have you tried to sew your own using clear vinyl?

I recently worked with clear vinyl and it was VERY EASY to work with...especially if your finished sizes aren't that important...no one's going to wear it. :) By making your own you can customize your pockets. If you need a picture of what I did, PM me.

The vinyl was realllllly inexpensive at Joann's with a 40% off coupon - and I think they're having some type of Coupon Madness sale going on now or soon.

Good luck

Great information, I will need to pick me one up.

Oh great idea! I have one on the back of my sewing room door and forgot about it. I am going to use it now. Thank you for the great idea!

Thanks, everyone....I found one yesterday at Bed, bath & beyond, and used my 20% off coupon!! I am a happy camper!!

misoop 11-22-2010 03:06 PM

I just started loading mine down this afternoon. I'll try to get a picture tonight and post it. I LOVE IT!! I put a lot of things in it and I still have some empty pockets.

I have two doors in my sewing area - which look pretty naked and ready to be used LOL. I look forward to seeing you picture

Here are two shots of my organizer. (I hope I can turn them in the right direction.) Anyway, if you can't tell about my items....I have a couple of pockets with my little "take to class" irons, one for my sewing machine needles, one for hand needles, one for some rolls of fusible seam tape, one for rotary cutters, one for blades, one for bottles of fraycheck, sewers aid......well, you get the picture. It's mostly stuff that I spend a lot of time looking for, under piles of "stuff" or "where did I put that stuff?" Hope this helps.

Well, I don't guess I know how to rotate the pictures on this message board.....someone needs to tell me how. :)
