Cleveland area quilters, where do you buy your flannel?

Hi, Everyone,

I love working with flannel, probably my favorite kind of fabric to work with for a bed or lap quilt. My stash is running low and I'm looking to refresh it. I live about 45 minutes southwest of Cleveland, Ohio and don't mind driving an hour or so for good flannel. Any tips? I tried Abigayle's Quiltery in Olmsted Falls, but they had very few flannels and most of them were high volume prints. I prefer solids or low volume prints. I also tried JoAnn's and, while there was a large selection, I found the flannels from JoAnn's pilled after the first wash.

Thanks!
Aso

I've heard good things about the flannel from Connecting Threads. Not a big selection though. http://www.connectingthreads.com/fab...L60020305.html

I don't remember if they have flannel - but the Little Red House in Medina is a cute little store.

i know I have to touch and feel the fabric, but The Fabric Shack in Waynesville (SW Ohio) has online fabric. I shop in their store and would highly recommend their online fabrics. They have a lot of flannels and they are beautiful - I've used some in a project that i was working on.

My favorite is The Quilt and Fabric Shop in Lancaster, PA. Too far for you and - I just checked - they do not do internet sales. BUT, if you are ever in the area they have one of the largest, highest quality selection of flannels I've ever seen anywhere. If you have a clue what you might like, they might be worth a phone call??? http://thequiltandfabricshack.com

Try Quilts and Kreations in South Amherst. They have a decent selection of flannel, bigger then Abigayle's

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I will definitely visit Quilts and Kreations in South Amherst and the Little Red House is Medina and check out some of the other places you all mentioned. I think the shop in Lancaster that NJQuilter mentioned carries Moda flannels, which I haven't tried but have heard good things about. I haven't tried connecting threads either, but I think I can order swatches from them!

Country Fabrics in Shiloh has a lot of flannels. http://countryfabrics.net/ Super nice people and they have over 9000 bolts of fabrics in stock and very reasonable too. They are my favorite shop.

I'm going to have to remember the Shiloh store sometime when I head north....

Try the Polka Dot Pincushion in Richfield. Cute store and nice people. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to leave the store without taking part of their inventory with me!
