Clips to sandwich quilt
I know this has been asked before but what kind of clips do you use to hold backing, batting, and top in place when sandwiching?

Don't know of any specific clips to hold the sandwich together. Clover clips are used to hold the binding on the quilt when you attach it, but that's after it's been quilted. I know some folks use clamps from the hardware store to hold the sandwich to a table while they are pinning it. Is this what you are asking about?

I use the BIG black binding clips that are found in a office supply store. They seem expensive but they last forever.I think I bought 3 packs and that is plenty to clamp down full size quilt. Make sure your table is not too wide for clip

I use one of the cardboard folding mats with the squares the clip the binding clips to. I lay it on the table for support and then clip.

I found the office type black clamps too small for my countertop. Now I use these:
http://www.menards.com/main/tools-ha...914-c-9135.htm They are *very* easy to use. There are smaller versions, but I like these because they will handle any thickness of table I have come across. They are also gentle because of the ratcheting mechanism and plastic ends, so will not damage a table. Found them in our local Menard's store for under $5 each. Four of them is enough for me to do a lap size quilt. For larger quilts, six seems to be enough. |

My folding tables have wide edges and office clips won't fit. I tried the tablecloth clips for outside tables and they won't fit either. I use the plastic C clamp pliers. Lowe's have them and Walmart, about any store that sells tools will have a variety of brands and sizes.
