Clover Mini Iron II for In the Hoop Pressing - Question
1 Attachment(s)
Hi, DS came home from college and asked what I'd like for Christmas. I've been eying the Clover Mini Iron but would prefer the Clover Mini Iron II since it will take an optional larger tip. This one has a red grill over the long shaft.
What I'm wondering is if the grill gets in the way of pressing in the hoop. Hopefully somebody has had experience using it this way and can share an opinion before I give DS my 50% off coupon to Joanns and send him shopping. Thanks, Cathy |
I don't think i have ever seen an iron that cute! oh my!

I have the mini and use it exclusively for my hot ribbon applique - had not thought to use it for pressing in hoop - will have to try that.

I have that iron, and use it in the hoop many times. It's great, and never had much problems with it. Mine also doesn't have and adjustment for how hot it gets, so I have to be careful what fabric I use it on. Not really a big problem tho, just sometimes I have to lay another piece of cloth over what I iron so as not to melt those poly blend fabrics I use in appliqué at times. You'll love it!

Thanks for the replies. I will definitely ask for this one. Have a great holiday.

I LOVE mine for applique. Great tool to have. Never thought of in the hoop but that will be something I try.

Yes, I use it for applique in the hoop with no problem. The only caution is, make sure you #1 remove the hoop completely from the machine and #2 don't touch the hoop! You'll make burn marks on the machine and hoop if you touch the plastic with the tip. I love mine. But , I think I went with the wider/bigger tip one.
