I see a lot of people use it for paper piecing, what in PP do you actually use it for because I have a PP quilt

To do accurate paper piecing seams, you need to press each one before you do another one that crosses it or is near it. I can keep my mini-iron right beside my machine for pressing. I use an old wooden cutting board as my ironing board.

I use a regular old iron for my pp, but I do have a mini iron, just haven't used it in years.

I have a Mini Cut-n-Press. Got it for buttonholes but golly-gee it works for quilting. :)

It's just so much handier to use the Clover mini when paper piecing. It doesn't take up nearly as much space as even a travel iron does and I am less likely to burn my hand or fingers with it especially if it is an intricate block with tiny pieces.

you always have to PRESS the pieces aside to cut away the part that is not needed...believe me Finger pressing does not always work, especially if you have spots where a lot of seams come together...

I also find the MINI is best at applying fusible bias pieces, small bits of fusible to appliques and MORE...if you have a tight or tiny spot to iron the clover MINI is your iron!

any board that is about 3/4" thick and covered with some batting and thick denim works GREAT!

Also, when hand sewing I use a hot pad as an ironing surface with my mini iron. It works great and makes it easier to handle.

Great idea! I'm so going to make a new hot pad just for pressing at my sewing table. I even have some of the proper filling for one. Thanks!
