Clover Pen

I recently bought a Clover pen - white - to mark out a dark coloured border and I thought that it was not marking the quilt so I went over the line a couple of times and left it for a week now I find that the line is there and I cannot remove it.

Has anyone a suggestion as to how I get the white mark out please.

Oh oh, I am not familiar with that pen so I think it would be best to contact the company. If you had scraps of the material you could mark on them, wait a week and try different methods and product to remove the marks?

Those pens are supposed to iron out. Have you done that yet?

Yes Leslie that was the first thing that I did - following the instructions given to me when I bought it.

I use Frixon pens all the time and this is the first time that I have used a white clover pen.

Not sure what to do next.......I hope that it has not set on the fabric.

Visit the clover website- help, if they don't have instructions, tips, help concerning your issue ask using the contact area or call someone there will help you.

Contact them. Their offices are located in Southern California. They are going to tell you first that you should have done a test piece on their product. They might have some advice so it is worth a try.

The marks came out in the wash for me. I had a wall hanging that could not be washed and used rubbing alcohol to remove them.

Mine have always come out by ironing.

I use the Clover pen all the time and also let it sit for awhile on occasion and have never had an issue. I was taught to use steam when ironing it out. Have you tried that?

Good luck to you; I've never had any problem just ironing the marks out.

I don't know about the Clover pen, but hairspray will take permanent marker out of Navy white uniforms. Might be worth a try for this ink.

I use the Clover pen whenever I need to mark dark fabric (which seems to be a lot). Always test a scrap first (I can say that as I have not followed my own instructions the first two or three times - LOL). Use a hot iron and steam. Then wash the fabric gently in cold water. Test the hairspray idea. I haven't tried that, but like ShirlinAZ said - it works on permanent marker, and better on ballpoint pen ink.

Thank you everyone for your input.

I had time today for the first time to tackle the problem. I took my spray bottle and filled it with cold water and really soaked the affected area then I put the iron on cotton setting and really steamed it. I am pleased to say that there is not a white mark now in sight.

I learnt a lesson from this.....always do a test piece on scrap fabric first.
