I swear there is such a thing and I have the disease :( I love going to look at the pics of quilts that everyone does... However it seems everyone has bright and cheerful quilts and mine are just- well kind of dull....

I can do okay doing 2 tone quilts and using the old cardinal rule of light/ med/dark of one color... However I have never made it past that.. Is there a color hint that I am missing? Anyone have an idea or a suggestion to help me step off the edge and make my colors pop?

I have 2 WIP going right now... I will try and get the pics of them up with in an hour... I will finish them as they are but I would love some color suggestions to use in the future..

Funny Diamonds! I thought for sure someone had figured out my problem with colors when I read the title of your thread! LOL! I guess color dyslexia works both ways. I think I'm too bright most of the time.

Quilting is art and art is subjective. Unfortunately, we are our own worst critics! Create what moves you and makes you smile. Then go out and buy some more fabric and start all over! :D :D

I know it isn't very cost effective, but I buy a lot of fat quarters for my quilting stash. I just pick up a couple I like and then wander from bin to bin picking out things I think look good together. Sometimes I go conservative, but mostly not too much. I love lots of color. I also buy 2 or 3 yards at a time of things I like a lot. That usually gives me a focus fabric plus enough for the back of the quilt (I haven't done anything bigger that a lap quilt so far).

I did try to take pics of the 2 WIP quilts and my batteries are too low for pics :( I will pick some up in a couple of days... That way I can get some feedback for new projects..

Maybe we need to collaborate.. We might get a couple of quilts that are not dull but also have color :lol:

I was going to suggest she have some of those Rum Balls from the other thread and then go fabric shopping!

The rum balls couldn't hurt while fabric shopping! Online shopping though! Or with a designated driver! LOL!

Rum balls sound really good :lol: Maybe they will help me loosen up and get my color juices flowing :lol:
