what color thread would you use to quilt this baby quilt, the sky is a light blue but does not show as that in the picture.. so it is red black and sky blue... would you change the tread for each color?

I hope I posted this picture right , I have had this Mac for just a little while and am still trying to figure it out, so different then my XP computer.. Thanks

Too cute. Yes I think I would change colors on this one.

How about a variegated? That way, you do not have to go crazy stopping and starting all the time.

if I change color thread would you use white thread on the back or better yet the backing has light yellow with farm animals on it so maybe a light yellow and it is polar fleece so the thread would not show that much ..right?

I would chafe colors as well, but maybe it would be cute to quilt white circles out the back of the tractor. Like little smoke puffs off the engine.

I agree. You could find a matching thread to fill in the background with what you feel comfortable with. I would quilt the tires using black (maybe doing something to show the tread) and a red to match the tractor. You want the quilting to enhance the quilt not to distract. REAL CUTE !!

Depends on how you plan to quilt it. If you're adding quilting lines to the tractor which will be separate from the wheels, which will be separate from the sky, etc., I'd go with matching the thread color to the area being quilted. If you didn't want to mess with that, you could use the light sky blue overall.

It's cute; some little boy is going to be really happy!

I agree, it depends on how you are going to quilt it. I would start with SITD with the light blue on the blue. I would then change colours for the different coloured section.

I'm not real good at the quilting thing and have to quilt it on my sewing machine as I don't have a long arm machine.. I was thinking of just doing FMQ but I think that I will change the thread on each fabric, maybe I can do some different stitches on each part of the quilt.. thanks ladies for your help.. wow the puff of smoke would look so cute I think I will try that too..
