This would actually be great! Matches the calicoes I have from the early 90s.

It's definitely something I would consider, as I love purple, plus my DDIL wants me to make a quilt for their bedroom and they picked out one dark purple wall with a light silvery lavender for the other 3 walls - it's beautiful.

I might put some in quilts, especially since I am working with related colors, but it wouldn't look good in clothes for this "Autumn" woman.

Thanks for the info.

All the little old ladies of the world will be thrilled!

As my Mom would say " a little bit of that goes a long way" , that was always a favorite expression when she din not care for something.

My DDinL wants a purple quilt so I started looking for colors in the cool purple and blue range. At our local JoAnn's there was only a very small selection. While I know that the JA's isn't the trendiest place in the world, I do hear quilters say frequently how much they like purple. Surprised any quilting fabric store would ever let those colors run low. Hope the proclamation will result in a broader selection. I do think the colors that don't go well with "the color of the year" get under produced, until they come back into style.

I do like purples, so perhaps this won't be so bad for me. If I don't like the color as a 'stand alone fabric', I'll bet I would like it as part of a design. Oh, well. Aren't we quilters skilled at making the best of a questionable situation?

Oh my ... I love orchid. So I guess I am a little old lady. It has always been my favorite, but, more on the pinky side. I use a lot of this color in my annuals in the garden.

What do you think? Going to make some radiant orchid quilts?

or

Take a pass on this one?

My 2 year old GD had a piece of black penguin on white flannel. The little guys had 'RADIENT ORCHID" scarves. My first though was to find a piece of the almost pink to trim out the dress. Gave that up for a bad idea.

I don't mind the color, but I'm not going to stress myself out by trying to match it.
