OMG! Beautiful. Another technique I'd love to try
|
This is gorgeous. Can any watercolor pencil be used?
|
WOW! I seen a fabric last month where the lady had used caryons! I thought she was nuts! BUT it was so beautiful also. I wrote everything down, hopefully, this winter I can try this!

I have some of those colored pencils but haven't gotten around to trying them. You did a wonderful job!

[quote=janeknapp]Do any of you use watercolor pencils or Inktense pencils to color fabric for use in your quilting?
I'm in a small quilt group at our local quilt store and the project for the month is a small quilt using fabric paints. We are first to quilt the quilt and then color in. (Quilt and Paint) I decided to use watercolor pencils and ordered them and I hope they come in today! I ordered Derwent Intense Watercolor Ink Pencils. I'm new to watercolor pencils and I never heard of using Aloe Vera gel. Great Idea. One of my biggest concerns was the bleeding since I already quilted the block. I'll have to try it. Your block is really beautiful. |
Thank you. I am very interested in trying this. Also, exploring this to see what my grandchildren, who love to color, could do. Seems like a great way to capture their creativity also. :-D

Jane, I enjoyed seeing your block yesterday, it's beautiful. I didn't get all the details so was glad to see your post this morning. I plan to try this but have to get my supplies first. Shirley
