These are odd shaped strips, 20"x3" at one end and 5" at the other end. I have 70 of these and I really like the colors but don't know what to do with them plus the fact that I am not a scrapy quilter does add to the situation.
Any one have an ideas? |
Get some matching fabric and do a rail fence, think that would look so pretty as a rail fence
Sorry didn't see the were oddly shaped, could you cut them down to a usable sized strip, maybe someone else will have some ideas how to use it |
create a makeshift rail fence-type with longer strips, also using wonky cut colors that go with your fabric. then square up (or rectangle up!).
|
I'd maybe cut similarly shaped strips out of black (don't have to be too precise) and pair one colored strip with a black. After sewing, I'd use a template to cut out squares, triangles, rectangles out of the pieced fabric. For example, you could line up a square template with its diagonal line along the seam and cut a perfectly pieced half-square-triangle block out of it.

throw some black strips in there.then rotate the 5" and the 3"? some one here could probably work with them...if you can't.
they are summerish and would make great placemant for outdoor table maybe? |
great ideas, I had not thought of these. So glad you are all here to help....thanks
