I would like to add something to the useful paper products mentioned in the Quilted Paradise Newsletter of today, July 30. I use colored construction paper extensively. My husband is a retired elementary teacher and we have lots around. When I want to try a new design I first cut one or more blocks of the design pieces in exact proportion using the construction paper with contrasting colours. I then sew them together to see how they fit and if I have measured everything correctly. It sews up very well, does not tear that easily and you can bend it without tearing it to put the seam allowances in the way you want them to go. It's better to cut the construction paper wrong than your fabric.

That is a great idea...and so many places have it for little punch to the pocketbook. Another idea if you have a magnet board( or refrigerator, though that could be dangerous. Would hate to get caught in there,,,they might think I was going to cook!) is the little magnet shapes. :-)

My husband has learned to recognize the signs and will ask, "Are we on our own tonight?" All I have to do is say yes and he goes and reheats something. I usually have leftovers in the fridge and he can operate that microwave as well as I can! Poor hubby!
