My mother has given me her Singer but I won't bring it home yet. She has lost her eyesight and cannot sew any more. She never did sew much.but my Dad gave it to her many years ago. He is 85 and she is 81. If I outlive them I will get it but I am in no hurry. I do all her sewing and I am happy that I am able to do it.

I just bought me 49 yr old Singer 503. Was so excited to find out his birthday as that was the year my DH and I were married.

I can't wait to see them. Congrats on your new babies.

Lucky You. What kind of machine will you get for Christmas?
I still have my first machine, Singer 328K with the fashion discs to make fancy stitches, coming up on 46 yo soon. |
I have my mother-in-laws Singer Treadle 27, it was made in 1893. I just got it all repainted, decals from Billy (lostn51) and just got a new faceplate for it today from [email protected]. So it is put on and it goes back into the refurbished cabinet tomorrow, put the belt on and we are going to sew sew sew. Can't wait. Now mind you I have had it since 1963, had the cabinet refinished several yrs ago. However, since been on this board, it got me going to get it out and fixed. So I'm thanking all of you for inspiring me to do this. Now I have 2 featherweights, my Janome and now the working Treadle. So my collection is growing. This is fun......
