companies similar to connectin threads?

I'm sure that connecting threads isn't the only great company out there to get good quality fabric lines and affordable kits. Where else is there to look to? Seems to me CT has narrowed their choices a lot this year and fabrics go so fast that by the time I even get the chance to look at their new stuff, it's already sold out.

I'll be watching this thread. CT is the only site I'm aware of that manufactures and sells their fabrics exclusively. I agree with the sold out quick comment, but I really like their recent introductions a lot!

Quilt Fabric Closeouts, Over the Rainbow, Desperate Quilters, Thousands of Bolts, Stitch-n-Frame...there are so many and I've shopped many of the different ones. If you go to Quiltshops.com, and search by company you may discover some you like. You can sign up for email alerts of sales. I've been happy with all of the ones I've shopped at.

I used to think Hancocks of Paducah was expensive until I started shopping their web sales. I have gotten drop dead gorgeous name brand fabrics for a fraction of the cost (we are talking CT prices here $5. per yard and less!). They quickly turned into my go to web place to shop. They are fabulous to do business with and with your order they send you a catalog with pages and pages and pages of droolworthy fabric.

CT is great when books and batting go on sale. I also like thousands of bolts.

there are Tons of good on-line shops- visit the 'FabShopHop' list of shops- listed are anywhere from 130-180 on line shops to browse, choose from.
(and in order to participate in the shop hop they are (verified) as legitimate shops
a few of my favorites are
Fabric.com, Keepsake quilting, PineNeedles, BearPaw Quilting, Homestead Hearth, The Cotton Patch (in East Tawas, MI) Primative Gatherings, The Old Country Store, ...the list goes on & on, i've shopped with all of these plus many more over the years.

I'm a new quilter and we have no LQS in our town. I have been shopping on Etsy.com and buying Moda fabrics. So far so good. :)

Hancock's of Paducah is my main source for fabrics and supplies online. Their sitewide sales are happening more often than ever before and are completely irresistible. No one can beat a 20% off sale on top of the line fabrics (batiks included) that were already marked down to less than $6 a yard. I agree with feline fanatic about their customer service, too...it can't be beat. As for Connecting Threads, I throw out their catalog unopened. Their fabrics and threads have no appeal to me whatsoever.

I go to Missouri Star Quilt company alot because they have a quilters daily deal I look at every day. Alot of what they sell is precuts, which I dont use alot....but I have gotten some great deals on quilt accessories many many times.

I finally ordered a fabric line from CT after hearing raves about their material. My opinion: the fabric quality was ok, not great, not awful.

The line I bought was called "Soaked". The other day I saw one of the exact same fabrics (the rain boots) at another quilt shop on line. In the same colorways. Don't remember where. Don't remember who made the fabric. I thought CT had exclusive fabrics?

Like another person here, generally the CT lines don't appeal to me. I can get sale fabrics elsewhere for CT prices that have wonderful quality. All of this is just my opinion.

I generally shop on line where I can get the best shipping rate. I ordered from one on the East coast and the shipping came to more than what I paid for the fabric. I take advantage of "free shipping".
