The compressed air to clean the sewing machine is not very
good as it spits out mosture into the machine parts.
Small vacum will be better.

My DH says to use a long bristle brush like a make up brush. He works on machines so that is what I use. Have never thought about the compressed air. I would be interested in what others have to say.

Either Nancy's Notions or Clotilde's sells a set of small attachments for any vacume cleaner to use for your machines. It reduces the opening down so that you can get into those small places on sewing machines. It makes more sense to vacume it out rather than blow it into the machine where it can get compacted and get stuck in there.

i used canned air on my keyboard and it leaves an oily film that attracts dust like crazy

I was told to NEVER use compressed air. I have a Designer SE computerized machine. The compressed air would force dirt and debris further in. Use a small vacuum. You can buy an attachment for your vacuum to weaken the suction power.

I use the canned air on my machine all the time. It works great!

I use it fairly regularly but make sure that all panels are off of my machine and then blow away from the closed areas. It works great!

Do not use compressed air. Moisture will get into your machine and ruin it. I was told this by a dealer.

I was also told to never use compressed air.
