The family ends with me. My husband and I were each only children, and we choose to have our military careers, rather than a family. We have hosted 18 exchange students since my retirement. The last one has boomeranged and is living with us again, attending collage. Now, as a 4-H advisor, I have several thousand "children" per year. I share with them what they are willing to absorb. Their ideals and values are different, and I find a lack of imagination on their part. I write so that everyone can retreat to some corner of their past - and remember.[/quote]
Not only is your memories a treasure it sounds like YOU are a treasure. I am sure that your 4-H students agree. I can't wait to read more. Do you still have the quilt? I would love to see a picture of it. |
