Do a search on CT fabrics and you can see the opinions. I fall into the buch that I LOVE their fabrics and threads. Their fabric has such a great feel, hand and softness. I think it has a better feel that most of the LQS's stock - especially lately. I just received the last charm pack yesterday, so now I have a complete set of charms of all of their 'standard' fabrics so that I can order their fabric to fill in 'the blanks' when kitting projects. I have an actual piece of fabric to compare actual fabric-to-fabric colors before I purchased. I think having the charms from them and the Kona Color Card, I can pretty well match anything I have in hand and order on-line when I want/need to.

I love shopping at Connecting Threads website. I have used their fabrics in 5 of the 6 quilts I have made. The price is right and there are so many choices.

However, the reference I made that most of Connecting Threads fabrics are printed in Mexico, not that Connecting Threads stuff is Chinese. Most, if not all WM fabrics are made in China. Hand and feel aren't the only things that go into making a higher quality fabric. You also have to look at the quality of printing, the quality of the workmanship, the care, the quality of the greige goods used, and other factors. Next time you're comparing, compare things like the crispness of the design, the evenness of the dye coverage, the subtle tones and nuances of the patterns, and other things like that, as well as the finish and hand of the fabrics. You'll see a big difference. |

I LOVE the CT fabrics!!!
Good thing I don't have more money or I would spend tons on new fabric just from CT alone. It has a luxurious feel to it (in MY opinion) there are times when I will just sit and run my fingers over the fabric because it feels so nice. Even my husband who usually just rolls his eyes at my stash will come to my fabric room and feel the CT fabrics when I get some new stash in from there. |

I buy CT fabric and quilt kits. I have no complaints at all. I mix it with the brand name quilt fabric bought at Hancocks's of Paducah and Keepsakes Quilting, can't tell any difference in quality. I ordered very expensive Tula Pink fabric and sent it back, didn't like the drape or feel at all. You can't go by name or price when it comes to fabric. David Textiles is sold at Walmart and it is the same as sold in quilt shops. I asked the quilt shops that sell it and they said yes, it comes from the same bolt lots and the shops sell it for about the same price as Walmart. Craft fabric which is 100% cotton sold at Walmart will be the less quality. The quilting fabric at Walmart is about $8 - $9 a yard. If your Walmart doesn't have quilt fabric then it's craft fabric.
