Connecting Threads Matsuri Fabric Line
 

This is my first time working with cotton lawn. Have had no problems whatsoever and am really enjoying the process. Didn't even have to change to a different machine needle. Love the feel of the fabric and colors from this line. I bought the Celebrate Spring kit from Connecting Threads. Wasn't sure what I would use for a batting but just picked up and plan to use Pellon's white cotton batt. Believe it will be light weight and drape nicely with the cotton lawn fabric. If anyone is hesitant about using cotton lawn, thinking it might be finicky, you may want to reconsider. This lap quilt will be perfect to throw over your knees on a cool summer morning, while enjoying that second cup of tea. Will post when the project is done.

I love cotton lawn, I've always used it to make summer blouses, though! Can't wait to see your finished product (and hear how it holds up in the wash)!

I also bought some of the matsuri collection and while I was thrilled with the fabric, the print on the teal "stars" was printed off of the grain, making it difficult to use. I have another order ready to go and need more of the same. This time I will send a note with the order - hopefully I will get better quality.

If your fabric wasn't printed straight, let Connecting Threads know. Their reputation for customer service is excellent.

What is cotton lawn? Never heard of it.
