Connecting Threads 'Soaked Fabrics' sale
Hi. Has anyone else looked at this week's sale of 40% off all soaked fabrics and kits? I was just browsing through my emails and when I opened this one I fell in love with those fabrics. I want one of everyone of them! My dilemma is that I don't know what to do with them if I get any.
Can anyone suggest a pattern (fairly easy as I am still kinda new at quilting) for any of these and which ones would you pick? Last time I ordered from them I knew exactly what I had in mind to do. thanks |
what are soaked fabrics?

Looks like "Soaked" is a fabric line having to do with rain.

I have no idea, but how CUTE those are!
I like Missouri Star Quilt Company's Double Slice Layer Cake pattern, which you can search and see on YouTube. It's a great way to use a lot of different fabrics from a line, and it's easy-peasy! |
A good go-to easy pattern (IMHO) is Yellow Brick Road by Atkinson Designs. It is simple, works really well with coordinated fabrics and always looks much more complicated than it is.

Look at the patterns they show with the fabric. That will give you some ideas. I too love that fabric. And has anyone seen the new limited edition batiks? Might have to break my buying moratorium and get some.

My mind just keeps seeing a little girl with coordinating rain coat and umbrella, sorry.

a while back--(before it was 40% off --!!) i bought the kit for a quilt using Soaked.......it came out really cute!!!

I tried yellow brick road and hated it. It's easy for some, but was way too 'then do what you want' for me. I guess I need more direction when following a pattern. Many folks on the board like YBR, but I have talked to a few others who felt as I did.
Having said that, I also have to say that I have color issues, and that might have contributed to my dislike of the pattern. However, I did get help picking out the fabrics, so it should have worked. |
