Since we were talking about Kona cotton, has anyone here used CT's new batiks, blenders or solids? If so,what did you think?

My husband bought me a lovely big stash of the Batiks from connecting threads for my birthday and they are amazing!!! the colours are fabulous and the quality feels wonderful. I have not cut into any of them yet I am still just enjoying touching them and rearranging them! lol
The service from CT was awesome and they arrived very quickly and were beautifully packaged too. I am just saving up so that I can get more and more and more and more.................................... |
I bought the new batiks and they are wonderful. I have always loved Connecting Threads fabric. You can't go wrong there.

I just ordered some solids, expecting the shipment any day now. When I receive it I let you know what I think.

I have used CT's batiks for three quilts. They are gorgeous and I love their fabric. Batiks are my favorites!

I received my order from Connecting Threads. Now the pressure is on. Really don't want to stear any of you wrong. When I purchase solids I almost always purchase Moda. The Connecting threads has a very soft hand but maybe just a little thinner than Moda. That being said sometimes I think quilting fabric is sometimes too thick almost like home dec. I will definitely use this fabric and will probably order more but everyone has different expectations so maybe a first order should be a bit less yardage. One of the colors I ordered was white, I put red behind one layer and could barely see any change in the white. Hope this helps.
In addition I received the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt book in the same package, even though I'm way behind the group on this site, I think I will try to catch up. Their choices of fabrics and colors are really inspiring. My daughter is interested in the book from a historical perspective. She is accusing me of trying to get her hooked on quilting by sneaky methods. Now would I do that? |
Thank you, Emma, very helpful. My LQS's don't carry any solids, maybe black. I really don't like the stuff at Hancocks and Joann's - too thin and frays. So, I thought the CT price was right to try.
