Hi All,

I was just on the Connecting Thread website and they are having a sale on their cotton thread. My question, has anyone used their thread? What is the quality? It is really cheap and its tempting....but I just don't know the quality.

If anyone has used it, please let me know how they like it.

Thanks in advance.....

I recently purchased 3 spools of their thread and have used about 1/2 of a white spool. I like their thread. And I am planning on purchasing more as they are having that sale for $1.74 a spool for 1200 yards. My very very first quilt I made, the lady that taught me to make it owned her own little quilt shop and she turned me on to a spool of the gray and she loved it also. And I still have about 1/4 of that spool left. :) I think you would be happy with their thread. :)

I use the cotton thread for piecing. It works great in my vintage machines. It may be linty for the newer machines. The poly Pro thread is lint free, thinner and strong. I use it for bobbin thread and have no problem using it for machine quilting. I have no problem with it at all and have a lot of the sets. Buy one spool of the cotton and one cone of the Pro and be sure it's what your machine likes.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THREAD FROM CONNECTING THREADS! for 9 years i struggled with finding good thread that my machines (domestic and long-arm) would accept---after wasting thousands of dollars i finally found connecting threads and my life changed!
my new goal is to accumilate every single color they have.
i do not get alot of lint- i do not get breakage-
the prices are great and i have had great response from them- orders arrive very timely and correct (so far for a bit over a year)

I have looked and looked and can't find invisible thread on their site. That's the only thing holding me back from ordering.

Don't think they carry invisible.
I also love their thread. I also use it on my regular and longarm machines. Doesn't seem any lintier than any other thread I've tried.

I use the thread since a large amount was given to me as a gift but I do find that it produces a lot more lint than some other threads. It does seem strong and the price is very reasonable.

I use it in my Janome Horizon and it works just fine. I also don't find it any lintier than other thread. I bought a bunch more from this recent sale too!

I have used it for several years with no problems. I love it.

quiltingcandy 07-06-2011 12:45 PM

Sounds like I will need to give them a try.

Juliebelle 07-06-2011 12:53 PM

I use it all the time and love it

Thanks for the link! It has lots more feedback than we need to re-create here!

There is an awesome sale on it right now. So I am going to try it for the first time. Hopefully I will enjoy using it as much as some others on this board. I am sure I will. It is always nice to get a good review on a product.

That is all I use now

I just ordered bunches, mostly white and neutrals, but a few others too. I've used it to FMQ and never had a break or a problem. That was with a home machine, not a long arm. What I really like is that they dye threads to match their fabric, so you always have a match. Sometimes I do wish they made smaller spools because I often end up with a lot left over. But I suppose we can never have too much thread.

debcavan 07-06-2011 02:07 PM

The cotton breaks often on a long arm but does well on a regular machine.

jljack 07-06-2011 02:08 PM

I just ordered and received 10 of the small cones at the sale price. I will be trying it for the first time this weekend.

I have had great luck with their fabric, so I an anticipating the same with the thread.

I am very happy with this company. I think they are great!

rusty quilter 07-06-2011 03:02 PM

I have a bernina 820--it HATES connecting threads thread!

nativetexan 07-06-2011 03:04 PM

I even FMQ with it.

susie-susie-susie 07-06-2011 03:24 PM

I bought some awhile ago and I like it. It does seem a bit linty, but I just brush it away. I clean my bobbin case every couple of bobbin changes so it's not a problem. You can't beat the price!!!

I love it. Use it for all piecing.

SeptemberGirl 07-06-2011 04:10 PM

Thank you all for the comments....I just purchased a new machine, a Brothers INNOVIS and while my other Brother INNOVIS works great with Gutterman (sp) thread, my new machine hates it. I had some Precencia Thread which works fine in the new machine....but it is a little pricey. I think I'll purchase one spool from Connecting Thread and see how it goes.

Thanks again.

belmer 07-06-2011 05:12 PM

It's the only thread I buy... Of course I do grab a few a others when I'm out shopping.

LivelyLady 07-06-2011 08:23 PM

I have a drawer full of their thread and am planning on buying more

Quilted Nana 07-07-2011 04:22 PM

I have and like it.
Plan to buy some more at this sale.
