glassnquilts 05-03-2011 09:34 AM

So I am envisioning an Edward Scissorhands setup with the ripper, the thimble, thread snippers and a needle treader.

ggreenridley 05-03-2011 10:30 AM

If it works, let us know. :-)

OWWWW - icon 17 - are you reading my mind or vice versa ! I thought of that particular problem. Maybe a seam ripper in your less dominant hand ?

Olivia's Grammy 05-03-2011 11:47 AM

Sounds like a winner to me. Can I have tweezers on another finger?

writerwomen 05-03-2011 01:33 PM

No dear you have it wrong. These little devices are now refered to as buttonhole openers. Ya, like that makes all the difference in the world. Whether you are a newbe or a long term sewer you know you will be taking out stitches at least once in a project. Which bags the question- how many takes do you think they have to take on sewing shows because something wasn't right and they obviously can't sit there taking out a seam.

patimint 05-03-2011 02:19 PM

too, too funny. However when you find out how much it cost, see about group discounts for all the board. You brightened my day.

Gramily 05-03-2011 02:31 PM

Scissor hands!!!!! Yikes.

OMG I see some bathroom misshaps! Butt I have a twisted Mind!

It's not a problem, mine is totally retractable and actually after 3 minutes of non-use it retracts. Only problem I had was the recovery time, didn't dare make a mistake fearful of having to use my new implant!!

nellie 05-03-2011 08:19 PM

where the sign up sheet?, and do they take medicare lol

Stitchit123 05-03-2011 08:48 PM

I see your day is a lot like mine but before doing anything drastic use duct tape on that new appendage to see if its really what you want to do

I have 4 extra hands, which would be the less dominant, the left or right? I am right handed.

katigirl 05-03-2011 11:08 PM

Sounds sort of like Wolverine from the X-Men movie.

Cal Gal 05-04-2011 08:26 PM

Retractable? would you have get a concealed weapon permit?

grammysharon 05-04-2011 09:57 PM

I had a day not too long ago that I made mistake after mistake. I think I had to rip out 4 seams. I finally gave up sewing for the day. Next day was much better.

My hubby would like it if I had plastic surgery - cut up the credit cards that love to add to my stash.

Barbshobbies 05-07-2011 08:05 AM

I have a answer for loosing the thimble, I put it in my pocket, then after looking all over, I remember that I put it real close, pocket!!!
