I have been struggling with my latest quilt, trying to get it sandwiched....Try as I might I could not get the back smooth. After several failed attempts, the light bulb went on. I have no place in my house large enough to lay it out on the floor, and usually put it on the bed, placing my cutting mat underneath to pin and baste. Didn't work this time. I am using Quilter's Dream Puff, a poly batting. My standard is Warm and Natural or Heirloom cotton. That stuff slides some, but not the Puff.... Far more sticky...
So I hung the top and batting over my deck railing, pinned that together. I also pinned all halfway points on batting and backing. Then I flipped it over, batting side up, and laid the backing over it, lining up the halfway marks and pinning..
Voila!!!! Easy to smooth out, and ready to quilt... Geez Louise!

I don't have a place large enough to sandwich a quilt in my house either. But I do have a deck with a rail, this sounds like it would work great!! Gotta go finish piecing the quilt I'm working on so I can try it!

You can also hang it up on your shower curtain rod.

I am going to need to do that soon. I have to make a quilt for my bed.. I have a bunch of twin size from my room before but now I have a full size and no quilts and its getting cooler.
