Converting picture to quilt pattern
I found a picture on Pinterest of a vintage quilt that is a 13" table topper. How would I begin to figure measurements for a bed quilt? It is a 2-color quilt with a center star and a 9 patch on each corner. Thanks for any help. mona z

Will have to see picture before giving informed answers. Can't do it just from description.

I agree with Quilt30. We need to see what you are talking about. Could you please post the link to the picture?

As already said, hard to give advice when we don't know what you are looking at.
However, that being said ...... start with graph paper and draw out your design. Work with it in whatever scale you want. IOW actual size or 1/4"=1", 1/2"=1" etc. Then you can come up with your measurements and how to create your block ..... all squares, HSTs, flying geese sections, etc. Just remember to add 1/4" seam allowances to your calculations before you start cutting. |
thirteen inches. maybe you could consider it a "part" of the larger quilt you want. just make several of them and put together.
