Cool interactive design wall
Connecting Threads (http://www.connectingthreads.com/) has an interactive design wall (aka Design Table) that not only offers viewing options with color and print size, but it also offers a grayscale option for light, medium, and dark perspective. It's a great learning tool in helping you select fabric.
Have you seen this option at other sites? |
Yes, I've seen this at a couple sites. Fabric.com pops to mind, seems to me Hancocks of Paducah has something too.
|
It's also a great idea to take photos as you design your block/quilt change the photo to black and white and reduce size... most smartphones will do it on the fly... makes design issues really stand out.
|
I have seen design walls at other online shops but not turning into shades of gray.
|
Can someone please post a link? I haven't been able to find it on either of those 2 sites. Thanks!
|
yes please explain a little bit more i didn't see a design wall either.I am one that has trouble picking out fabric and colors for projects I need all the help i can get, the link above dosen't have a design wall?but a lot of beautiful fabric............thanks

Thousands of bolts has one. http://www.thousandsofbolts.com/inde...lay&page_id=43

I always wondered what that was, but never wanted to take the time to watch the video. It is a really interesting concept and certainly with figuring out the yardage for you there will be less error in under/over buying fabric. Anything that takes the math out of quilting is a boon for me.
Thanks for pointing out this tool, as I would have never used it. |
On the Connecting Threads site, when you choose fabric and go into the collections, under each thumbnail of the fabric it gives you an option to "add to design wall".

You'll see under each swatch there is an "Add to design table" link. Select one swatch and click on the link. You will be taken to http://www.connectingthreads.com/cfF...esignTable.cfm Under the swatch viewing box you will see radio buttons for COLOR: 100% 50% 25% GREYSCALE: 50% Only. You can locate fabric swatches and add them to the Design Table (up to 8). You may move the swatches around inside the viewing box. You may also delete the swatches. Play around with this app. to see how it works. |
