Cool New Feature of the QB

Hopefully, nobody has mentioned this, but if you hover your cursor over the envelope to the left of a post, you can see the beginning of it. This is great! Now I can get the gist of a post without opening the whole thing. Great for those "Help!" titles.

Jim's Gem 11-01-2011 03:08 PM

There are many more "cool" new features on here. Keep exploring!!!

catrancher 11-01-2011 03:11 PM

Jim, can you answer my question about long threads? Maybe it's somewhere on the board, but I can't figure it out. When I look at a few of the threads that have been going for a while (specifically, the Monthly Block Swap Bee), they are not up-to-date. The Monthly Block Swap only goes up through September sometime. I posted to that thread last night, and my post isn't there.

Now That is the One thing I do like.....

I don't know what to tell you on that one. Mid September is when they launched the "Beta" test board. Hopefully they will move more recent content over. Recent postings are on here as well as recent messages and Bookmarks and such.

Thank you for the tip on the envelope! I will check it out! Any other cool things to check out?

Me too. That is a great feature.

baskets4moo 11-01-2011 04:22 PM

It also tells you if you've posted to that thread, too cool! And you can change your font color & size when you post, really cool!! I'm a geek, can you tell? Doesn't take much to thrill us geeks. I should be good for weeks exploring all our new features

sandyquiltz 11-01-2011 04:29 PM

Abonda, go all the way to the top, click on settings, and you should find your bookmarks on the left side below subscriptions. Mine are all there.

sak658 11-01-2011 05:53 PM

Look at the box where you typed your reply. You have the option to make it bold, or italicized, or underlined, change the font, size of font and color of font. Have fun!

What envelope?. Am I just dense? I'll keep looking. Ugh! In the wrong page. Found it!

What's the replacement for "unread topics". "what's new" isn't quite the same.

I like to know this too!!

judykay 11-02-2011 12:49 PM

Sorry, but I don't see an envelope to try this.

Becka 11-02-2011 01:05 PM

I noticed that, and love it as well. Sometimes the titles are a tad misleading, or I just read them with my own wonky interpretation and I like not having to do all the clicking out of it when it turns out not to be what i thought, or something I thought I could help with, but can't...

just_the_scraps_m'am 11-02-2011 01:07 PM

i like the calendar feature--everybody's birthdays are on there!

thepolyparrot 11-02-2011 01:09 PM

Love all the fun stuff available on these more complicated boards.

At the very top of any page, you see "Quilting Board - powered by vbulletin. I googled them and found there forum. It is an interesting read, check it out.

If you are looking at a list of posts, like in "what's new?" you will see it. It doesn't appear in the thread of a single topic.
