Hello,
I wanted to know has anyone copyrighted their pattern. I did a search and found some information. Do I just submit a sketch or picture of my pattern.
Thanks for your help.

I would suggest that you read the paper work and that should state what additional documents that you need to submit :D:D:D

I have the copyright on three patterns that i have published. You fill out the paper work and then send a copy of the pattern with the form to the address in Washington DC that is on the form. There is a charge to file it. Then you wait and they will send you the papers for the copyright. Just don't be in a hurry. It will take several months to recieve it.

a friend of mine told me that it's less expensive to send several together. i don't know the particulars. check the fees carefully. you might be able to save $$$ if you have more than one ready to register.

Thanks everyone for the information.
I have found out that what I need to copyright is two things.
1. The panel that I have created which is printed on fabric
2. The pattern I created.

I was charged the same rate for each pattern. They will tell you the price for each one. It's not a difficult process. It just takes time to recieve your copyright.

You don't have to file anything to have a copyright. All you have to do is produce something tangible, such as a pattern. The main reason to pay to have it recorded is that this would allow you to bring a lawsuit for infringement.
