Last December I bought an expensive Panasonic cordless iron. ($89) Last month it started dripping water! I finally packed it up and sent it back. But I love the cordless feature! What cordless irons do you have and have they lasted longer than a year?

i would love to have one but figured they didn't really get hot/get hot fast/stay hot. it would be wonderful not to be tethered! and having it drag around my fabric

The cordless feature is fantastic! The Panasonic heated up fairly fast, and was fairly hot. But the steam feature never worked very well, so when it started to drip, I just sent it back. I hope they honor the warranty!
I would really like to have another cordless, but I'm not spending that much money again. There are some in the $60 range and I just wondered if anybody has experience with them.

I currently have a panasonic and really like it, but its not yet a year old. Previously I had an Oreck (bought on ebay for about $50, LOVED IT!!!, but the heating element rusted away after about 5 years) I will get another Oreck when the Panasonic dies, it was a heavy iron though, but I really liked it.

wasted about $159 on a stupid/heavy/pain in the.... cordless iron...it was about 3months before it started leaking...
I NEVER PUT WATER INTO AN IRON ANYMORE!!! I use a water spray bottle, kept on the end of the ironing board...no more leaking, spitting, horrid irons! i have a second one of the cordless irons...been in the cupboard...still in it's box...since 2005...figure when my $12 black & decker iron from wally world finally gives out i might break it out. but when $100 irons last months and $12 irons hold up for years and years...i'll stick with the cord.

I have a Maytag and have used it exlusively for the last 4-5 years. I love it. Great for classes and everyday stuff too.

I have a cordless Panasonic that I paid around $80 for about five years ago and it is still going strong. It is lighter than the Maytag cordless that two of my friends have and one of their irons has given up the ghost. We bought them all about the same time but they paid a lot more than I did. You can get a lemon in any brand so if Panasonic offered a replacement, I would go for it!

Well, in that case, I will wait and see what Panasonic does. In the mean time, I am using my mom's $9 Walmart corded iron. It seems to do fairly well. :)

I have an Oreck going on 10 years but never put water in it. I love it!

Well, I ordered an Innovage Home Cordless Rechargable Iron from an Amazon company because someone gave it a good review. After 3 days I realized it was not getting hot enough to get the wrinkles out of cotton fabric. It also was spitting and dripping. Today I am sending it back! I'm back to square-one on an iron. I think I'll go to KMart and see what they have for around $40. It will be easier to return if it doesn't work. I still have not heard anything from Panasonic on the one I sent back to them.
