Cordless Upright Vacuum
I need recommendations for a small cordless upright vacuum that I can leave in the corner of my sewing room behind the door. I keep a Swiffer there right now. I thought it would be so easy to goggle and find exactly what I wanted. Not so. I don't want to pay a lot either, as I have a very good Dyson vacuum. I would just like to be able to grab the vacuum and hurriedly sweep the threads and junk as I leave the room. Phyllis from SW Missouri.

I have a small carpet sweeper I use. Mine is battery operated and works really well. It's a Bissel.

I find a small canister vac better to use. The rollers on most vacuums get clogged with the threads. If you use the floor brush with the canister vac (or on the hose of an upright) it works better as you can easily vacuum the threads off your floor attachment.

I have the big Dyson for everywhere else and I bought the little rechargeable Dyson for my sewing room, it's wonderful x

I have the Bissell Lift Off Floors & More. I think it's perfect for little jobs like this. I have one because I didn't want to drag out the heavy Kirby every morning to clean up hubby's crumbs. The bonus is that it has the detachable hand vac. It runs around $55 at Walmart.

I have an Electrolux. It's base holds a dust buster and it has a head with brushes. What is interesting - it does have a thread cutter that works.
There's a button on the base that you hold down with your foot, it makes a terrible racket, but it does cut threads so you can pull them out. http://housewares.about.com/od/vacuu...uum-Review.htm I had a Shark, it died, and it did a far better job on cat litter than this Electrolux. There is no such thing as trackless cat litter. |
No, I don't have that. I will check into it as well as some of the other suggestions. The Dyson was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I do love my big Dyson.
