Corduroy for a rag quilt?
Has anyone ever used corduroy for a rag quilt?

Yikes, all I can picture is the mess from the corduroy edges shedding. I wouldn't use it.

Me too. And the first thing I thought of was that it wouldn't be very cuddly.

Years ago, in some magazine, I saw a Log Cabin done in corduroy. It was just one solid color fabric, (beige as I recall) and the way it was layed out, the "nap" made it look like a dark and light side. Very striking. I may still have the pattern, but never made it! You would have had to be very conscious of the cutting to make the nap lay correctly. So, guess you could use corduroy in a quilt, but I'm not inclined to do so.

I have used corduroy in almost every rag quilt I've ever made. It frays beautifully, and the ribs give a nice texture to the quilt. I love it!

I have used cotton corduroy many times in raggy quilts. It pairs wonderfully with flannels, rags nice, it's wonderful

Nativetexan that is a very nice rag quilt. I haven't bought any so, I have not used it in quilts. Seems someone has used just about anything for quilts.
