Corduroy scraps and yardage-what to do with it?

Hi all. I love all the help you dish out here on the Quilting Board. I have learned tons from you all. As I was cleaning out yet another box of fabric I found lots of corduroy scraps and yardage. Anyone have any good ideas of what to do with it? It's too heavy for quilts I guess........ so (sew) what to do with it? I don't have any little kids in the family, so kid things are out. Help! Thanks in advance for your ideas. :)

I love to mix corduroy with flannel in rag quilts. It adds a nice texture to the quilt.

You can use it on the back of pin cushions to keep them from sliding. I don't think that would use up a lot, but it might work for the scraps.

Quilted Pillow, Seat Cushion, quilted rug...new warm quilt for winter.

It makes good bottoms of tote bags, the darker colors. The back of potholders!

Big patch floor pillows.

Tote bags comes to mind or draft stoppers? Remember those sewn draft stoppers that people used to lay down at an outside door to stop the cold air from coming in? I've seen them shaped like weiner dogs. You could sew some tubes and fill them with kitty litter to keep winter boots fresh and dry. Oh I just noticed you're from California, do you wear winter boots?:D

Quilt with it, no batting. I made DGS one for Christmas last year and he loves it. His bedroom is in the basement and stays cold. He says it is very warm and cozy.

I like the "quilt with no batting" idea, but in my hands it would become wheelchair & walker bags; also shopping bags for grocery store.

It depends on the 'wale' of the corduroy. A very fine wale can be used for quilting - I've done it! The wider wales, as Quilting Grandma says, can be used with no batting.
