cost of sevicing my sewing machine.
 

Hi, I picked up my Janome 10001 from the dealer after having it serviced and I told some of you what the cost woule be. He charged me $79.00 plus tax. So I did not think that was too bad. It did not need any parts . But being in the quilt shop I also purchased fabric. Whoope!! tomorrow I will start a new project.

that is a good price, in today's market...at the ONLY shop within 100 miles of my house that takes in machines, they now charge $100 just to look at it!

That's cheap its about 150 here in Cali at my dealer

the shop here is $100 just to clean, you keep your fingers crossed it doesn't need anything else

I took my Bernina in last Nov. the Mon. after Thanksgiving. It was doing all kinds of weird things, and not doing others. They said I needed new circut boards. Then a couple of months later when I called to ask about it, they said the outer casing of the machine was broken. ???? much to my surprise!! Anyway, they had my machine for 4 months. Finally I called Bernina Inc. Two days later the shop I had taken my machine to called and said it was ready. When I asked what I owed they said "nothing" I was shocked. They replaced the circut boards, the outer front casing, plus cleaned and adjusted it. I was sure glad to get it back.

I just picked up my machine yesterday from my local dealer. It needed a repair of some kind, the thread kept slipping out of the take up lever when I stopped sewing. I told them repair only, no servicing because there was nothing else wrong with the machine. So they did the repair, readjusted the tension, blew the dust out and charged me $50. I thought that was pretty darn reasonable.

I took my Janome in a few months ago because it was making a rattle noise. The rattle turned out to be only a screw loose (on the bottom of the machine, not the user!) and they did a service and cleaning on it and it was only $52! And this from a shop that gets absolutely no business from me since I purchased the machine! I would quit quilting before I would give them a dime of my money for fabric or anything else, even if they were the last place on earth. Only took it there because it is the only Janome dealer in town or 2 hour radius.
