Twenty five years ago when 100% cotton fabric was not as easy to come by as cotton/poly blends, I made my son a bed quilt using scraps of what I had. He slept under it for 8 or 9 years and took it to college with him. At the end of 4 years of college he brought the quilt back to me to "fix". Just about every place where there had been a cotton/poly blend fabric was a hole. That fabric completely wore out....the cotton was still in place and holding together. I had to make a replica of the quilt for my son and learned a very valuable lesson....my stash was cleaned immediately of all cotton/poly fabric....and I have never used it for another quilt....it just doesn't have the staying power!

It shrinks more than cotton...when pressed...and if mixed with cotton it looks terrible..ask me how I know...used some once and didn't know if wasn't 100 % cotton...had to remove it all...

I never use cotton blends, strictly cottons

And then there are all those 100% poly quilts from the 70's that never seem to wear out. They sewed with what they had. With the price of cotton going so high, we may start looking for other fabrics too.

i haven't had good luck with them.

if i had some in my stash i would only consider using it on a wall hanging for the backing and i would never wash it or sell it to a customer.
