I don't think there is anything better than a good quality cotton muslin. There is nothing any softer after it's washed, I love the feel of it, and it quilts beautifully. Use it in my quilts all the time, front and back, for piecing, applique and embroidery. Just remember you get what you pay for!! Keepsake quilting carries wonderful muslin, bleached and unbleached. I have been quilting since the mid 70's and have always used it.

I am not typically a fan of a lot of fabrics sold at JoAnn's... but their Legacy brand Muslin is very nice muslin. They have it in wide ( 110 width).

I also love their legacy muslin, it washes up nice and soft, and I use it in my embroidery blocks, has a very nice drape and softness to it, and is pretty affordable with coupons buying the large sizes. Lori, do you know if they sell the legacy by the bolt
