Cover stitch Machine for attaching quilt binding?
 

Have any of you used a coverstitch machine to apply quilt binding. I have a CSM with a nice binding attachmentment and it seems like that should work on a quilt. If you have done this, please comment on your experience and how well the binding stayed on. I realize this would be a single fold, but my quilts are untility quilts.

I use my coverstitch machine to make professional looking hems on knits. I have never used it to bind a quilt, I don't think I'd like the double needle look and definitely would not like the back.

I have a binder attachment for my sewing machine. I do not think it is easier than pinning if I'm doing a binding by machine (which I do frequently).

My thought is to try it on something small and see if you like it. Your quilt, your way.

I never heard of this attachment. I would be careful with what you try because the bulk might be too much for it to work properly.

The binding attachment for a CS machine is for attaching binding to a single layer of fabric like a t-shirt collar. I know there is no way a quilt will fit through the binding attachment I have for my Brother CS machine.

Thanks for your comments. I will give it a try on something small. My attachment is large enough for a quilt to feed through. It's the corners that might not work. I'll let you know what I find out.
