Craft online university
 

I see that Bonnie Hunter has a class on here.
Has anyone ever done any classes there?
I'm interested in that class, but have never done any online.
How does it work and what's your opinions on it??

I've taken several online classes from Craftsy, but none from Craft Online University. I looked at the class you mention, and there's not a lot of information there. It is very expensive compared to Craftsy classes, but I know that Bonnie Hunter is a good teacher, and perhaps the classes are more comprehensive than those on Craftsy.

I do Craftsy. I haven't tried Craft University. I have taken several of Bonnie's workshops in person and enjoyed them.

I never heard of this site. I don't need to take classes when there are so many u-tubes that are free.

Reviews are good, but be aware that your access to the lessons ends at the end of the "term".

You tube is great for how to and new techniques but a national teacher won't put her workshops and classes online for free when she is booking and teaching the same workshops for money. The best instruction I have gotten for quilting was from the instructors in person classes. A lot of their info is not in their books or DVDs. They save many of the best secrets for their in person classes. They have to or no one would say the class was worth it when the same info is online.

When you take a class on Craftsy it is yours, accessible whenever you want to watch it. I wouldn't want to put out that much $ for one that will not be accessible down the road. Bonnie does good classes, I would check her site & see if I could find the class somewhere else.( like Craftsy)

I have taken a lot of classes on Craftsy and enjoyed them very much. I just recently learned about Iquilt.com, which is very similar to Craftsy, but has some pluses and minuses.

On the plus side, Iquilt.com can be made full screen, and the camera work is spectacular! Lots of up close shots and very well produced. Craftsy doesn't have a full screen option and many times I have found the camera work to be lacking.

On the minus side, Iquilt.com does not have a platform where you can ask questions directly to the instructor. Instead, you submit a question, and if it asked often enough, the instructor will answer it. Also, the refund period for Iquilt is much shorter, only 7 days, whereas Craftsy is 30 days. The prices are very similar.

I have not tried Craft Online University, but I did notice that their prices were much higher than both Craftsy and Iquilt. Maybe it is worth the price for some teachers, but I would hesitate to pay that much.

I love Bonnie Hunter and read her blog every day. Today, I almost signed up for her class, but even with the discount, it costs more than I want to pay. On the other hand, the cost is about what a quilting class here would cost. I guess I am spoiled taking Craftsy classes. I sign up for them when I can get them for less than $20 and love the fact that the information is always there. Because you can interact with the teachers, I consider many of the instructors good friends and sign up each time they offer a new class (as soon as I can get it for less than $20). If I could access the Bonnie Hunter information forever, I probably would pay that much for a class, but just for a Bonnie Hunter class.

your access to the CraftU class ends after 6 weeks, but you can download the classes to your computer to view later.
