Crafts Fat Quarter Boxes

Does anyone know if the Craftsy Fat Quarter Boxes has 40 different fabrics or are there repeats? Thanks!<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/dc6862e3/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

I had repeats - several were of 2 each.

If they are from a specific fabric line, there will always be repeats. Fabric manufactures can't afford print 40 or 42 fabric variations for just one collection.

I bought the free spirit fat quarter mystery box and the generic fat quarter mystery box. There was a few repeat in each box but very few, let's say I got 2 or 3 fabric that were double. Great variety overall.

I have bought several mystery boxes of fat quarters. Some had a few repeats, but not many. Each box has been great and I have been totally satisfied. The value for the cost is great, usually just a little over $1.00/fat quarter. The duplicates made that particular fabric more useful, and I love scrappy quilts.

Wow, I've never seen FQ boxes. Where do you find them? They sound like a good deal!

Craftsy is having a sale, some fat quarter boxes are included. Here is a link - http://www.craftsy.com/supplies/craf...x&startIndex=0

I'm very tempted by the price!<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/dc6862e3/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/dc6862e3/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

I have always gotten repeats in the four mystery boxes I have purchased from Craftsy. The one yard box was the worst. I got three of the same ugly red-brown fabric. The fat quarter boxes aren't as bad because you get so many fabrics that a few repeats isn't that big of a deal. If you like the repeated fabric, you won't mind.

I look at these fat quarter boxes all the time, but I've never bought one. Being in Australia, the postage is almost the same as the box itself!!

I just ordered the mystery box. Can't wait to get it.

Make a charity quilt, and use that on the back. You can even plan it, to have a little of some matching color in the top.

"The one yard box was the worst. I got three of the same ugly red-brown fabric."

What Bonnie Hunter says about using ugly fabrics - "if it's still ugly, you haven't cut it small enough"!

That is so very true.

I haven't heard that before but I love it. So true!

True! I also found that an ugly fabric can end up being a perfectly decent binding.

LOL Love these comments! Like silliness, I purchased a one-yard box from Craftsy and was so disappointed when I opened it... none of the fabrics were really inspiring to me. My original intent was to use them for making bags, but nothing was appealing for that purpose... so maybe I ought to get that box back out, and start cutting those suckers into smaller pieces! :)

Just ordered a fat quarter mystery box. It's my first, but I could not resist. I hope I like it.
