Craftsy Classes
I don't have a LQS that gives classes less than 75 miles away. What do you all think of Craftsy classes? Are they worth the money? I thought they were kind of pricey, but don't have anything to compare them with. Let me know what you think.

I took Carol Doak's paper piecing class when it was on sale, and thought it was well worth the money. You get several free patterns with the class, and watching her demonstrate her techniques was very helpful to me even though I thought I already knew how to paper piece.
Edited to add that I noticed that she answered questions pretty quickly. |
I love the Craftsy classes. Sometimes you can go to the instructors web site and get a discount on their class.

I took Leah Day's class and it was great.
|
There have been ads for free Craftsy classes on board. I am running XP on my computer so I can't use their website.

I have taken many classes on Craftsy. Each class taught me something, if not many things. Well worth the $. The classes frequently go on sale.

I took a FMQing class and I thought it was wonderful. What is really great is you have it to refer back to for quite awhile!!!!

I've taken many Craftsy classes, and I just love them! They are so useful and pertinent to what you're doing (or trying to do!) I always sign up for the free BOM class, and they are great because each block teaches you a new skill. Right now they're on sale, so I'd take advantage of that. I've only bought courses that were on sale or free.

you can watch and rewatch the craftsy classes so that makes them a good bargain especially if they are on sale. if you don't like a class write and get a refund. I know longarm classes in my area run around $150 so I really like taking the craftsy class from Kimmy Brunner for templates and rulers. I took one of Angela Walters, too. I like Cindy Needham's classes.

I don't know about your area, but in ours classes run about $15/hr and you are getting less instruction as you have a class full and many different levels or expertise so the teacher is addressing those as well as giving you instruction. So for a class on a particular quilt the classes run about $90 (two 2 hr sessions) and you can't rewind those or view later. I think the Craftsy classes are well worth the money They have sales every so often wait and sign up for one then and see how you like it.
