Where is it found? I see it occasionally on the board, and I think I even have a piece or two, but nowhere else and Im just curious about it. Is it quilt shop quality??

Our JoAnn Fabrics used to sell Cranston fabric. I think WalMart may also have have had Cranston fabrics in the past.

Cranston and VIP are the same thing or were. I think it is better quality now than it was years ago. My opinion

Cranston makes several different lines of fabrics, at different quality and price-point levels.

Cranston branded stuff is sold a lot in chain stores and is a lower quality than their other fabrics.

Cranston VIP is sold in many chains and is a slightly higher quality fabric.

Cranston also makes Quilting Treasures fabrics and QT VIP, which are are said to be sold exclusively in independent quilt shops, although they also sell in large online stores that aren't independent and are part of chains, such as fabric.com. They are mostly focused on licensed and novelty fabrics.

Hancocks and Hancocks of Paducah are not the same store. Hancocks of Paducah is a independent LQS.

I remember back in the early 70's Cranston VIP was very expensive cotton fabric--paid $2.97 a yard for some. Wore that peasant dress for a long long time!
