I love crazy quilting and am putting together a crumb/random in cottons with no embroidery at the moment. I too am saving ties for a crazy quilt and scraps of rich velvets, sateens and pretty ribbons. I have a couple of '80s bridesmaid dresses in taffeta that are "for the chop". I love to embroider, but haven't done any for quite awhile, I am also studying up on beading....as I think that would be a great embellishment too.

I haven't tried crazy quilting yet. It would be great if someone could start a thread similar to a BOM to guide us through making and embellishing a crazy block or wall hanging.

I have CQ books and embroidery books. I have purchased thread and ribbon. I don't know where to get the better quality laces and appliques.

Ready to go, just need a little active guidance.

I also love crazy quilting! I've made a few blocks, with hand embroidery and machine embroidery. A couple years back, I worked on one as a group project with a Senior Citizen group. It was raffled off, and received lots of praise.

I've always been fascinated by Crazy Quilts but I have never tried one. Could any of you suggest a good book about CQs for a beginner? I'd love to try one. I used to do hand embroidery years ago, I need a refresher on the stitches.

If you google crazy quilting, you will find lots of places to get supplies. My favorite is eveningstardesigns and they have several links to other sites.

Try Judith Montano's books. She is originally from Australia I believe. Her work is gorgeous and her books are wonderful, lots of pictures.

If you have an embroidery machine, check out the Molly Mine crazy quilt designs. They're just beautiful!
