Crazy Quilting with embroidery machine/Eileen Roche

Has anyone used this. I purchased the book with CD, was able to print out the blocks showing the stitches used to sew together but cannot print the schematic. Found out I need the software at a cost of $700 to achieve this. Does anyone know how I can do this without the software.

Not sure what you are looking for. I've never gotten anything other than the print of the completed block. Usually the embroidery file will stitch a placement line, you place the fabric then it stiches in place. You trim close to the stitched line and then it does the decorative stitching. The blocks you printed out should give you a good idea of the size of the patches needed. I would try making a sample block with scraps and see how it goes.

Have you called the people who made the CD?? I dislike it when you purchase something as a pattern then find out you need to buy something additional. $700 is a lot of moola for software.

I googled the name and if it's the same book, 80 pages, the designs should be on the disc. ...I would call the company.

The website www.pintangle.com has 80 different crazy quilt block patterns that you can print out. It also has a huge library of stitches.

I searched for this book & CD. This is an embroidery machine file, not a crazy quilt that you embroider using fancy stitches on your sewing machine. You should not need anything else as the embroidery file will stitch out placement lines for you.

The CD will have the machine embroidery designs on it, but you will need a program to be able to read and transfer them to the machine - via a usb wire or stick, or a card. If you don't have these, perhaps your local sewing shop would do it for you, or know someone who will. Most cd's include a pdf with instructions, but you have the book, so I'm not sure what you mean.

I'm wondering, do you have an embroidery machine or did you buy the book, thinking they were done by hand?
You're welcome to pm me if I can help
