I finished binding a baby quilt that I now want to add a sleeve to the back so that it can be hung on a wall until the baby is older. (Lots of buttons that are not for little ones.) Any instructions out there for adding a sleeve after the quilt is completed?

Did you try search at the top of the page. Also youtube has great tutorials. Good luck!

Susan Brubaker Knapp has an excellent tutorial on making hanging sleeves.

do not sew it flat to the quilt but leave a little room for the rod. In other words, if it is flat, the rod will push the quilt out, if it is not flat, the rod will push the sleeve out and the quilt will hang flat.
Of course if you are using a flat rod you don't have to worry about this. |
Thank-you! Will check it out.

Thanks for the suggestion--will check it out.

Ah, thanks, that's excellent. Maybe I'll stop using push-pins now!

You could also sew tabs on it ... so it would still hang but more like tab top curtains. Might be easier to remove when the child is able to play with it.
