Oh, get the Quilter's Select mat too. I have the Olfa and a few other brands of mats and I can tell a big difference when cutting on the Quilter's Select mat. I bought the biggest one. Worth every penny to me.

Hmmm, now I want to see what all the fuss is about the Quilter's Select stuff! I have several brands of rulers but favor the CG because of the clear acrylic, uncluttered lines, and non-skid circles.

I love the Creative Grids rulers. Very handy to have the 1/4" for seam allowances showing well. My favorites are the
6.5 x 12.5 and the narrower 3.5 x 12.5.

I started using Quilter Select. They too have a soft sand paper like finish to the back of the ruler with fine lines and and small dots for diagonal cuts. They are easy to line up and nothing in the visual lines to interfere. I just love them. Sounds like this ruler system is the same or close to it. The no slip factor is a big one. These rulers are a bit pricey but I am finding them worth the money. Thinking about asking Santa for a couple others for Christmas.

i also have a nice selection of olfa frosted rulers.
and have some EZ speciality rulers.

i have seen the new quilters select rulers.
they appear to be similar to olfa frosted.
i don't know how long the finish on the back will last.
my olfa frosteds started out non-slip, too, but have gotten slick on the back after many years of use.

if i found myself in need of a ruler i don't already have i will be tempted to buy a quilters select so i can give the brand a whirl.

Well a small Quilter's Select square ruler got in my laundry and was washed in the washer. I didn't find it until the the load was all done. LOL The backing is fine on the ruler. Didn't hurt it a bit. I would think rubbing against clothes in soapy water would have shown some wear but it didn't look damaged at all.

I don’t know where you are in Ontario but where I am (grey County) they are pretty common in quilt shops. An alternative is order on line from Sew Sisters in the GTA.

I have been curious about the Quilters Select but they are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. I notice that MSQC has them now. I may add one to the next order to try out.

I have mostly CGs now and am a devout fan of them. Never tried the QS. I am on CGs mailing list so I get notified of every new ruler. I get mine from Amazon. True, there are a lot of markings, but all the half markings are on one side and full markings on the opposite side. I find them very easy to use and hard to confuse the markings.
