Great quilt!! I love quilts with LOTS of colors, and the pinwheels add a delightful touch.

I think it's a wonderful idea!

ladies you are so smart, I've been making tons of these blocks and I will incorporate unexpected goodies.....
|
I wasn't sure I liked tossing in the pinwheel blocks at first, but after staring at them on my design wall for a few weeks they kind of just blended right in with the other crumbs. You have me beat on your progress of 98 blocks, I am at a stand still right now with 80 blocks done. My crumb pieces were tossed into one of those big plastic tubs, one day a few months ago I opened up the lid and scooped up an armful and dropped them right down next to my machine and that's how they were born. Did you find that they go together pretty quickly? I thought they did, just grab and sew....no rules or directions. Mine are also 6.5 inches. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your progress.

My theory is: "It is your quilt so do whatever you want." Creativity is the name of the game. Enjoy it.

Yes, I found they went together very quickly cause there is no measuring or fidding with fitting. I just whacked and sewed and pressed. Just totally fun stuff and I'll probably be making more cause I have more crumbs. I made my 98 in just two days of sewing, however my room kinda holds me hostage once I walk inside. I sit down to sew and don't get up .....I even had my small cutting mat w rotary cutter on my machine. I did get up to press, however. I needed to get some exercise! ha
